Always Control The HANDS? |
It's a drag race: Hoping that the other person is interested in a test of skill is not a good strategy to use outside of a gym. If you watch the video closely, Danny doesn’t control the hands. A knife, a screw driver, a ball point pen, all could’ve been easily accessed and used against him.
But nothing bad happened? I can pull plenty of training video where high-level grapplers take down beginners and then get repeatedly stabbed because the novice guy accessed a knife and the grappler did not notice it get produced. I can pull up real world video of the same thing happening.
Keep this in mind? Just because you think you are in a simple street fight, an agreement to exchange physical non-life threatening force, does not mean the person you are fighting, thinks the same.

Insiders Look at Shivworks |
I hope you can appreciate there is an actually knuckle dragging jiu-jitsu troll typing all this stuff out. I know there is spelling errors (full honesty, sometimes on the social media posts I do it on purpose to troll people into commenting) but I type a ton of stuff every day. I am good at hurting people and showing people how to hurt people. All this extra is a continuous struggle bus ride.

What others are saying... |
|
I come away from the weekend feeling like I have crossed the chasm in regards to grappling. It was my “0 to 1” moment. The analytical side of grappling was a complete surprise, and it makes so much more sense to me now. But I am at the very beginning. |
