Unpacking key concepts of the hook and tie. |
Here’s the breakdown: Hooks (think underhook or overhook) are your power tool for breaking posture—disrupt their balance and are weaker and less threatening. Ties, like a collar tie, excel at opening doors—to their back, dominant positions, or clean strikes.
Don't can't they both do both? Hooks can crack openings too, but posture’s their forte; ties can bend posture, but openings are their strength.
Why care? Broken posture kills their power. Openings let you dictate the fight. |

Over the past month you may have seen an increase in our social media content. I am really trying to increase the volume of information being provided. A lot of it is trial/error.
If there is ever something you find interesting please let us know and maybe we can expand on it a bit.

What others are saying... |
|
Absolute top marks for the class, the instructor cadre and the ability to adapt to the facility. I left with pages of notes, an amazing amount of hands-on knowledge, and had an absolute blast while doing it. 100% worth the price of admission if you’re serious about self defense. Couldn’t be more impressed with the way it was taught, the professionalism of everyone involved and the amount of value for the money
